Our Mission

Our Mission

We are a contemporary church committed to bringing good news to those living in the San Jacinto Valley. We believe God's inerrant Word gives the true direction in life that people so desperately need. Everlasting life is found only in the person of Jesus Christ through believing that He died and rose again to take away mankind's sin. He is our life.

So how do we at Community go about BEING the church that God wants us to be?

Our mission, purpose, strategy, values and anything else you want to call it, simply is understood in this way:
      Stepping In
      Building Up
      Living Out

Everything we do at Community falls into one of these three areas.

Stepping In

Our primary expression of Stepping In is experienced in our weekend services. It’s on the weekend that most people give Community their first look. While all three aspects of our mission can be seen on the weekend, we realize that it’s the best place for our guests to get their feet wet. We then encourage people to join us at our First Step class which gives them an opportunity to discover what Community is all about and how they can be a vital part of this family.

Building Up

Becoming more like Jesus is what our Building Up component is all about. While we have many opportunities for discipleship, we’re convinced that real discipleship happens best in the context of relationships. Our LifeGroups are the main vehicle for this to happen in your life. Many other classes, bible studies and opportunities to grow deeper are available.

Living Out

Putting this all together and having the rubber meet the road is where the Living Out expression of our mission really gets going. Since we believe we are here to actually make a difference in our valley, Living Out what Jesus taught us is critical. It definitely involves ministry and mission by using our gifts and abilities, but it also has everything to do with the heart of why we serve and the integrity of character that we display day in and day out.

We are not satisfied with being a bunch of people who “show up for church” on the weekend. We want to “be the church” and have the impact on this valley that God has planned for us.
