BE before DO

BE before DO

We are entering a very exciting time here at Community. As I mentioned this past weekend, we are only 3 months away from opening our West Campus at Tahquitz High School! With all that we are about to DO… this next series is so critical.

Before we DO anything, we need to make sure we are growing to BE what God wants of us first. We’re wrapping up our IN HOT PURSUIT theme of this 2008-2009 season of ministry with a close look at the BE-ATTITUDES . In Matthew 5 Jesus teaches us what it really means to BE before we DO.

Maybe, like me, you’ve read these dozens or hundreds of times…but the time is NOW to take a closer look at our heart, our motives, our intentions and our lives. These next several weeks will be vital for us!

Starting this coming weekend, we’ll be taking one of these a week for the rest of the summer. Go ahead, read through them now and then pray that God would use this time to prepare our church to BE & DO what He wills.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
-Matt 5:3-10 (NIV)

I miss you guys sooooooooooooooo much.

I thought I knew what I was doing, I thought I knew what God was doing ...now I know one thing...nothing.

I have yet to find a church here that does not do ummm 'interesting' things. I now know how Dorothy, the tinman and the scarecrow felt going through the forest....

It is beautiful and the people are very different, and quite often 'interesting'...good hearted people I think.

I love you guys and miss the message and music the most.

Lisa and the group...great motivating stuff! Thanks for that.

I will send a picture of the travelling 'C's.

Hope you are all well and happy.

    much love,

    iris
