Let me be “Captain Obvious” for a moment. Not everyone is the same. We don’t have the same gifts, abilities or tastes in music. We like different kinds of movies, tv shows, books and magazines. We’re not all passionate about the same things, nor do we have the same personalities. We’re not from the same background, we don’t have the same color of skin and we don’t all see with the same lens when it comes to politics. But in the church, these things we do have in common…
We have the same Lord.
We share the same Grace.
We’ve been given the same Mission.
There is much that unifies us. There is real power and synergy when we do come together, putting our differences aside for a common goal.
While we don’t all have the same bank account, we all can do something for our West Campus Launch Budget. I hope that you have been discussing and praying about your part in this special offering this weekend. It really is for everyone.
For some it will be a real stretch to come up with an extra $30 a month for the next 6 months. Others will give $2,500-5,000 this weekend without even blinking. Each of us is different, but each of us can be a part of something very special. Please remember your gift/commitment is to be beyond your regular offering. Honestly ask God to lead you in this important decision.
Just maybe, as you go the extra mile in being generous, it will make it possible for hundreds to hear about our Lord, receive His Grace and feel the impact of our Mission.
