I just read an excerpt from Andy Stanley’s book, The Principle of the Path.  It had great things to say about wisdom. In it Andy says this, “It is next to impossible to hear the voice of wisdom if we are not really listening for it to begin with. The best council in the world is wasted counsel if our minds are already made up."

We are so excited about our upcoming "Friendship in Bloom" Tea Party coming up on Saturday, May 1st.  We are nearly SOLD OUT for this event and I am sorry to say that the window to purchase tickets had closed.  

The GOOD NEWS is that a very generous woman in our church has purchased 5 Tea Tickets and has made them available as a GIVE-A-WAY!  Can you believe it?  God is so faithful and He obviously wants you to come if you're reading this and don't have your ticket yet.  

So here's what we'll do:  If you would like one of these tickets, put your comment here including your full name and how long you've been coming to Community.  The first 5 comments will win one those tickets!  We will post the winners names and we will have your ticket available for you at the door next Saturday morning.  

Ladies, there is only two days left to buy your tickets to our first annual "Friendship in Bloom" Tea. You will NOT want to miss out on this wonderful time of friendship and encouragement.

For this year’s BIG SERVE event, several of the women’s LifeGroups are going to be worshipping and serving at La Vista Recovery Center.  While some of the ladies are going to be engaging the residents by offering various spa treatments (manicures, pedicures, chair massages, etc.), another team will be giving an extreme makeover to a couple of the resident rooms by cleaning, painting, providing new curtains, and a few other surprises.

That’s where YOU can help!  

I have been blessed over these last few months with the opportunity to come together with my fellow Women’s Walk Leadership Team, to pray and plan for our first annual Women’s Walk “Friendship In Bloom” Tea.

Come out THIS Saturday and help send the kids of our Community to camp by simply showing up and getting your car washed, for FREE!

Our youth group and childrens ministry have been out in our community getting sponsors for each car they wash. The car wash is FREE and each car they wash earns them more money towards camp. What do you have to loose? Please show up THIS Saturday from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the East Campus, and put these kids to work.

And if you did not get a chance to sponsor anyone and would like to, we will be accepting donations at the car wash.

Oh, I forgot to mention, It is FREE!!!!! Bring your car, bring your husbands car, tell your neighbor to bring their car!

I am so excited for tonight!!! My life group is starting tonight and I can not wait! I am so excited because I KNOW God has something new to teach me, and new people He wants me to meet!
There was a time when I did not look forward to going to a new bible study. If I could have driven the whole way with my arms crossed, I would have.
 I really want to encourage you, if this is your first lifegroup, or if you are trying a new one, do not drive there with your mental arms crossed. Be open to what new experiences God has for you. Often times it is when we are vulnerable and out of our comfort zones that God can grab hold of our hearts.
So, before you decide after one visit that this study or this group is not for you, I want to encourage you to ask yourself this question “Is this where God wants me to be? Does God want me to come back?”
I want to encourage you to finish strong, because I know what it is like to quit half way through, and what it is like to finish strong putting all my time and energy into the study. Trust me, although it might be out of your comfort zone, and there will be plenty of distractions, do not quit!! Do not make a decision based on how you “feel” at the time. Make the decision based on where God is leading you to go.  If you continue and see it through, I promise, speaking from experience, it will be a blessing! You don't want to miss out on what God has in store for  you!
Oh, and did I mention, I can't wait for tonight!!!!

Would you like to help serve our fellow women of this community? Would you like to help be God's hands and feet? All you have to do is DRIVE A FRIEND to church! Here is the deal: there are women who call the office, some elderly, some single moms, and also, some from the La Vista house, who really want to attend our church and all they need is a ride. For whatever reason, they do not have transportation to our church and really would like to join our church family to worship with us.
