In Hot Pursuit

In Hot Pursuit

Have you ever wondered what a real Christian or Disciple of Jesus is supposed to look like, or better yet, LIVE LIKE?

We did our research and came up with six statements of Jesus where he really laid it on the line.

These six statements are the foundation for our whole year of teaching here at Community.

In Hot Pursuit is our theme for the 2008-2009 season of ministry. What we’re talking about, is being disciples…being In Hot Pursuit of Jesus with everything we’ve got.

If you want to follow Jesus with everything you’ve got and discover what it really means to be His disciple…then dive in with us. Each of our series this year is based on one of the six statements that Jesus said about being an authentic follower of Him.

Jesus’ six statements:

Luke 14:26 "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters--yes, even his own life--he cannot be my disciple."

Luke 14:27 "And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple."

John 8:31 "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples."

John 13:35 "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Luke 14:33 "In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple."

John 15:8 "This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."
